In order to know what you really need, your kitchen needs to be clean and organized. A good trick to follow in the fridge is to keep fresh and perishable items at eye level. Stock your pantry with non-perishables and you will have the essentials for countless meals and less time and visits to the grocery stores. Being organized in the kitchen is like having more money in the bank.
Golden Rule #2: Establish your monthly budget and then make a plan.

Golden Rule #4: Buy and Eat Local and Seasonal.
This may require a new open-mindedness to what is available and how you will adapt your diet to it. Always invest in higher nutrient based foods. If you want the best protein source on a budget, invest in locally sourced free-range farm eggs. An egg is the whole package, and in times of budget, restriction will help keep your health and well-being on track.
Golden Rule #5: Skip Restaurants and Make Meals that Produce Quality Leftovers
This one is common sense. However, aside from the financial savings, eating out adds unnecessary sodium, sugar, bad fats, and a host of other things that affect your wallet, waistline, and health. By planning, and really investing time into learning a few good recipes, you can cook up three or four dinners, which also create three or four lunches.
