5 Reasons to be Excellent

Remember, tomorrow is promised to no one.  – Walter Payton

1.    Self Growth and Actualization
It’s not important what you GET in life, but instead what you BECOME and what you leave behind as a result.

The quality of your life will be determined by the depth of your commitment to excellence more than by any other factor  – Vince Lombardi

2.    Competitive Edge in Life
If you don’t make a commitment to become excellent in your chosen field, you don’t stand a chance of making it in today’s competitive society. Nothing will improve unless you commit to be excellent: professionally, personally, socially, etc.

Control your own destiny or someone else will. – Jack Welch

3.    Encourage your own self esteem
When you’re mediocre, it makes you feel…  mediocre.  Why settle for being average?  Nothing gives you more self esteem and self respect than being excellent at everything you do.  Rely on yourself not others to be your best.

If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve. – Anthony Robbins

4.    Excellence is a life style
The world is changing at lightning speed.  The average human uses less than 10% of their brain.  There is no reason that we need to stop learning and evolving as we age on the path to continued excellence. Apply the highest standards to all areas of your life.

Once you say you’re to settle for second, that’s what happens to you in life. – John F. Kennedy

5.    Excellence and Vision = a quality role model for others
The only difference between an excellent person and a mediocre one is that the excellent person sees their inner potential and the other does not. The person aspiring for excellence has a VISION.

Excellence means that I set the highest standards for myself in everything I do. I do my very best in every situation and under all circumstances. I constantly strive to be better in my work, and as a person in my relationships. I recognize that excellence is a life long journey and I work every day to become better and better in everything I do.  – Brian Tracy
